Scout Frequency Recorder

The Optoelectronics Scout Frequency Recorder is ideal for searching out and recording frequencies.

With 400 memories, the Scout  is designed for  portable operation and is ideal

for collecting those  hard to detect frequencies.

An article on Frequency Counters is here

OTTO Software

Otto is a program which allows you to download and manage the frequency data captured with the Optoelectronics' Scout

frequency counter or the Xplorer test receiver.  The author has done a great job here. If you need a copy please go - HERE

The main features of the program are:

  • Download all 400 Scout's or 500 Xplorer's channels, including all additional data such as hits, time, date, etc.

  • View the data in a spreadsheet-style window.

  • Connect both an Xplorer and Scout at the same time (using a serial port switch or two serial ports simultaneously).
  • Export the frequency data to an ICOM PCR1000 .MCH file, to start scanning right away.
  • Save the data for later use in ASCII comma-delimited format, easy to import into Excel, Access, Lotus, etc.
  • Add alphanumeric tags to each downloaded frequency.

The Optoelectronics Optolinx Universal Computer Interface

Adapts for use with a wide variety of Radios, Scanners, Decoders, Frequency Counters, and Frequency Recorders.

The distinguishing feature of the Optolinx is its unique ability to connect both half and full duplex devices and alternate them under software control.

The R11 is a remarkable piece of equipment.

The R11 Nearfield FM Test Receiver is capable of sweeping 30MHz-2GHz in less than one second.

Analogue FM signals are received, and the
resulting audio is demodulated and heard through the built-in speaker or alternatively an earpiece.

It can lock onto a 5 watt UHF signal as far away as 500 feet in less than one second, demodulate the signal through its built-in speaker, and display the general band the frequency is transmitting in on its LED indicator.

It also incorporates a CI-5 data port for
Reaction Tuning with the Scout.

iCOM PCR-1000

The IC-PCR1000 is a powerful PC-based radio scanner that connects to your computer providing frequency coverage from 10kHz to 1300MHz with WFM, FM, AM, SSB and CW receiver modes.

There are two user groups to my knowledge:
